Creators for Cures is happening now

What are you doing for the rest of the week? There’s still time to jump in on our big spring fundraiser, Creators for Cures. Read on to find out how!

Plus, support us by killing zombies and/or swinging golf clubs, and catch up on the speedrunning weekend that raised $25K for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.

Creators for Cures

Through Sunday, our ridiculously creative community is showcasing their talents on Twitch during our fourth annual Creators for Cures. Check out the schedule and tune in to show your support, or start a campaign and get creative to help us smash our $20K goal!

During these eight days of creative fundraising, creators of all backgrounds, talents, and passions are going live and sharing what they love: gaming, art, music, building, woodworking storytelling, cooking, and more. This event is sponsored by Baqsimi, the first and only dry nasal spray to treat very low blood sugar.

Donate to Creators for Cures and we’ll send you a gift! A $55 donation will get you a set of cherry-profile keycaps branded with our Breakthrough T1D Play colors. For a donation of $150, we’ll send you a cozy fleece beanie embroidered with our controller buttons logo.

Current Humble Bundles: Dead Rising and Golf Games

If you’re on the hunt for a new game to play, look no further. Humble Bundle is supporting us right now with two game bundles, Dead Rising: Shop ’Til You Drop and Fore! A Golf Games Bundle. Hmm, killing zombies or playing golf… why not both?!

Humble Bundles are a win-win because you get a collection of hand-picked games for a low price, and we get a donation. To maximize how much of your purchase goes to Breakthrough T1D, click “Adjust Donation” under the Checkout button and move the slider under “Custom Amount.”

T1.Done Recap

The weekend of April 18-19,  Spikevegeta and a crew of his friends raised more than $25K during the T1.Done speedrunning event. In case you missed it, here were a few highlights:
  • ZFG’s Run of Ocarina of Time No Logic Randomizer: A poll to choose which character model ZFG used brought in $3,547.54 before the run even started. ZFG’s run also brought in more than 10,000 new viewers to the event! Watch the video.
  • Elden Ring Finale – Boss Hunter Race: Four of the biggest Dark Souls speedrunners — LilAggy, Mitchriz, star0cris, and YoJosherino — tried to kill the most bosses, with viewers donating to delete boss wins from their total kills and forcing players to swap to a new weapon. This chaos resulted in over $7K raised in just two hours. Watch the video.

You can check out all of the T1.Done speedruns on our website. Click a panel under Event Schedule to see that speedrun.
