Vintage vs. Type 1

Vintage vs.
Type 1

Starting Wednesday, October 1, content creators across the Magic community will compete in a Vintage Cube trophy race while raising funds and awareness for type 1 diabetes research.

The race heats up on Saturday and Sunday, October 4–5, when longtime Magic luminary Brian David-Marshall will drop in on the competing players during an all-day stream relay on twitch.tv/magiconline

The Vintage vs. Type 1 2025 event also includes exclusive MTGO avatars for donors, an auction of rare Magic items, and in-person activities happening at CubeCon on October 16–19!

Brian David-Marshall | Advisory Council

“I was diagnosed with diabetes even before I started playing Magic back in the early ’90s. Back then, the format we played was simply known as Magic.

A couple of years later, when Type 2 (now known as ‘Standard’) was announced, the most encompassing format was retronymed to Type 1 (now known as ‘Vintage’) and I have had the two intertwined in my life ever since.”
