Spring is here and we’re ushering it in with an exciting Zelda-themed fundraiser, Heroes of Time! Read on for the scoop.
Plus, hear about a type 1 diabetes (T1D) clinical trial that’s changing lives and learn how game industry insiders can support Breakthrough T1D Play.
Breakthrough T1D has been a leader in islet cell transplantation for decades and is currently funding more than $450M in research across 20+ countries.
One of these is a clinical trial of Eledon’s tegoprubart, an alternative to standard immunosuppressants that may help prevent translated islet cells from rejection in people with T1D. Katie Beth Hand, a participant in the University of Chicago trial, has been speaking up on social media about how this life-changing therapy has functionally cured her T1D.
Check out her recent conversation with Breakthrough T1D’s CEO, Aaron Kowalski:
Breakthrough T1D Play is unique in the charity space as a program founded and supported by people who work in the game industry and have personal connections to type 1 diabetes. If you’re part of that Venn diagram, we want to hear from you.
From donating game keys to our community streamers to participating in a Steam sale or Humble Bundle, from sponsoring a fundraiser to adding T1D representation to a game you’re working on, there are lots of ways for game developers and companies to get involved with Breakthrough T1D Play. We could even work together to create a bespoke fundraising event like Vintage vs. Type 1
Fill out our Game Developer & Publisher contact form to let us know about your T1D connection and share your ideas for getting involved. We’ll be in touch soon to continue the conversation.
