Raid for Research Returns on February 25
Back by popular demand, our Raid for Research Twitch relay returns on Sunday, February 25! During this all-day fundraising extravaganza, members of the JDRF Game2Give community will each stream for two hours, then pass the baton by raiding the next fundraiser. Our fifth annual Raid for Research is sponsored by Abbott, maker of the FreeStyle Libre 2 and 3 systems.
This year’s Raid for Research streamers include EnbyEiri, Obiwanshinoobie, DennisLA1219, BlindIRL, TheOnlyRyann, Zvch, Jambo, MultitapMugen, Brave, and Phant_TV. Tune in to cheer them on and help us reach our $25K goal!
Vintage vs. Type 1 Event on March 2–3
The first weekend in March, we’re teaming up with Brian David-Marshall and the Magic: The Gathering community for Vintage vs. Type 1, a Magic Online fundraiser supporting JDRF. Some of the biggest names in Magic will be helping to raise funds and awareness to defeat type 1 diabetes in our lifetime.
On Saturday, March 2, and Sunday, March 3, celebs from the Magic: The Gathering community will participate in a series of Vintage Cube drafts while viewers put stipulations on what cards they can and cannot draft through online donations. Tune in at twitch.tv/OfficialMagicOnline and donate on Tiltify to receive limited-edition avatars, free entries to play Vintage Cube on Magic Online, and more! The Twitch stream will start at 9:30 a.m. PT / 12:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. GMT both days.

Streamer Spotlight: EnbyEiri
EnbyEiri, a self-described “non-binary bean of weirdness from the UK,” has had diabetes since they were two and a half. But their exposure to JDRF came much later, when they combined their passions for art and science to create a set of superhero-themed educational materials as part of a university project—and belatedly received a Rufus.
“I’ve been fundraising for JDRF since 2017, after finding the charity through my uni dissertation research into media for children and young people diagnosed with T1D, and to this day, Breakthrough T1D stood out to me and continues to do so,” Enby explains. “I still treasure my uni Rufus bear dearly!”
They joined the JDRF Game2Give streaming community early on, doing several 24-hour charity streams as part of a fundraising team. These days, they stream solo from twitch.tv/EnbyEiri, where they’ve raised nearly $6,500 for JDRF with playthroughs of relaxing games and adorable handmade incentives that showcase their artistic talents.
EnbyEiri is incredibly supportive of their fellow T1D streamers and community, even going so far as to hang out in chat during all ten Raid for Research streams last year. This year, they’re joining our fundraising relay as a streamer… but not as the EnbyEiri we know and love. That’s because their Raid for Research stream will mark the big debut of T1D drag king Dexter Rose, named after those good old dextrose glucose tablets.
“I’ve had type 1 diabetes for nearly 33 years now, and it has not been an easy journey and is definitely a little lonely, but the JDRF Game2Give team has been amazing,” Enby says. “From learning about research, to having new friends that relate to the struggles of T1D but also celebrate the wins, means the absolute world to me. It’s an honour to be a part of it!”
The honor is ours, Enby. We can’t wait to meet your alter ego, Dexter Rose, on February 25!
